Medical Professionals: What's your experience with the FMLA?

The Family and Medical Leave Act turns 20 this week, so we've been asking for people to share their experiences with the law. Among those we heard from was a physician who said he felt dropped in the middle of an antagonistic relationship between employer and employee. he says, "As a physician, I am happy to share the medical data that is available to me with both the employee and the employer, but I would prefer for them to negotiate the details of the employees leave from their duties."
