Should "ethnic studies" programs be allowed in schools?

This week, the Tucson Unified School District board voted to end its Mexican-American studies program. Under an Arizona state law enacted in response to the program, TUSD stood to lose $15 million because the curriculum was considered to be divisive and advocating government overthrow. We'd like to hear your thoughts. Is a Mexican-American studies program appropriate? Was it right to end the program? Should "ethnic studies" programs be allowed in schools? Share your thoughts below.
