Hungry Midwestern vegetarians?

Have you heard the outraged din since the New York Times knocked the Midwest's meat-filled dinners and diners? A.G. Sulzberger, the NYT reporter based in Kansas City, recently wrote how difficult it is to eat here, given our reliance on meat and our alleged disdain of vegetables. "Even though the region boasts some of the finest farmland in the world, there is a startling lack of fresh produce here," he wrote. Offended bloggers and vegetarians called him out, but the question remains. Do you find it hard to get fresh fruit and vegetables?
