On Friday, August 5, Standard & Poor's downgraded the United States' credit rating to AA+, judging the resolution of the U.S. debt ceiling wrangling insufficient. China, the biggest foreign holder of U.S. debt, said on Saturday in a sharp warning that the U.S. needs to live within its means.
