Good idea to fund the Marlins stadium?

Three years ago, the County committed over $300 million to give the Marlins a new stadium. The idea was to make Miami a Major League City, but perhaps most importantly, to bring thousands of jobs. The deal, made without a voter referendum, sparked the recall of Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez and now, given the low game attendance and the team's poor performance, support of the stadium deal is a political liability.
