Pembroke Pines city-run charter schools are in financial trouble. The amount of state funding charter schools receive has been steadily shrinking, and the schools don't have access to the Broward County school district's construction funds. The Pembroke Pines charters are digging into their reserves to balance the budget, and are warning that, without some additional funding, the schools' long-term survival is threatened.
