Do you trust school and FCAT grades?

A week after publishing letter grades for Florida schools, The Florida Department of Education has changed the grades of more than 200 schools around the state. Officials made the revisions after they realized they had forgotten part of formula when they first calculated the grades. The error means 59 schools in South Florida will get higher, revised grades: 31 in Miami-Dade, 11 in Palm Beach County and 17 in Broward.

This is not the first grade revision controversy this year. When student scores dropped on the FCAT this spring, the state responded by lowering the score needed to pass.
