Did you register for the Selective Service?

Oregon Representative Peter DeFazio is pushing a congressional bill to eliminate the agency that administers the Selective Service (essentially the U.S. military draft). DeFazio says that the agency is a waste of federal dollars, given the success of volunteer military enrollment. Critics of the bill say that the agency could provide critical logistical backup if there's an national emergency.

Men between the ages of 18 and 25 are required to register for the Selective Service. Did you register? If you didn't, why not? Did you worry at about being prosecuted for a felony for not registering?

Our daily radio show Think Out Loud wants to hear your perspective on the Selective Service.
