How Compassionate Are People After a Disaster?

PBS SoCaL is looking for people to share their disaster, crisis or emergency experiences and the level of support received. Your stories can be personal, financial, health related, environmental or any recovery-related event. We also want to hear from you if you have provided any type of aid, charity or support to people who were recovering from disasters or emergencies.

Empathy, sympathy, and compassion are an important part of being human. It seems in times of disasters like earthquakes and floods that compassion surfaces effortlessly.

But at what point do we lose the motivation to sustain the effort of compassion after a disaster? Tell PBS SoCaL your experiences with disasters so we can explore the shelf life of compassion. Your responses will help PBS SoCaL learn more about the levels of compassion shown during and after disasters.
