What are your hopes for the new pope?
On Wednesday, March 13, a group of Catholic cardinals chose a new pope after two days of conclave -- Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina.
Bergoglio, who will be called Pope Francis, is notable because he is the first non-European pope in more than 1,000 years, the first-ever to come from South America and the first Jesuit to be elected pope.
Pope Francis is known for a lifetime of teaching and leading priests in Latin America, a humble personal style and for modernizing a very conservative Latin American church.
Tell us. What are your hopes for the new pope? What is the significance of choosing a pope who is a "first" in so many ways? And what do you hope the Catholic church looks like in 10 years?
