Are phone booths an eyesore for Miami?
There's been a resurgence in pay phones in Miami over the past year. The city has almost 100 phone booths - many of them new - mostly on major roadways like Brickell Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard, Flagler and Eighth streets, because advertisers have used the space to display ads. Unlike New York City's booths, these booths are causing complaints among local activists, who say the booths are not aesthetically pleasing.
