Is your community talking about coal trains and exports?
Our environmental reporting project EarthFix is taking a look at proposals for new coal export facilities in Oregon and Washington. A company called Millennium Bulk Terminals has applied for permits to export 44 million tons of coal from Wyoming and Montana through a port near Longview, Washington. Other terminal locations have been proposed in other coastal and riverside communities in Oregon and Washington.
Is there buzz in your community about coal trains or new export terminals? If so, we'd like to know more about what you're talking about, and how the proposed trains and terminals might affect you.
