What themes, characters, or scenes from The Girl Who Fell from the Sky resonated with you?
We're working on a series of stories in partnership with the Library to continue the conversation about this year's Everybody Reads book, The Girl Who Fell from the Sky by Heidi Durrow.
If you've read the book, what resonated with your life? Perhaps you were affected by a move to another city at a young age, or maybe you saw yourself in Rachel as she grappled with how to deal with romance, sex, and growing up. Or you might have sympathized with Laronne, Nella's boss who tried to understand the reason for a terrible tragedy, or Brick, who has to forge his own life path at a young age.
We'd like to understand how this novel connects to life stories of our community. If you see your experience reflected in the book, we'd love to hear from you.
Are you unemployed? How does your age affect your job hunt?
Do you fish for smelt in Oregon?
Do you have stories about working on the homefront during World War II?
