Is your racial identity part of your life story?
We're working with the Library to explore issues that emerge from this year's Everybody Reads book, The Girl Who Fell from the Sky by Heidi Durrow. One of the storylines explores how the biracial main character grapples with identity and community.
Durrow's book takes place in Portland in the 1980s, and got us thinking about how race influences life in Oregon today.
Do you feel that your race or ethnicity is a major part of who you are, your place in the world, or how others view you as a person? Whether or not you've read the book, we'd love to hear about your experience.
