Why do people leave government and public jobs in South Florida?

By Stefania Ferro | Oct. 01, 2013 | 26 Submissions

Statewide, government employment has been dropping since 2008. Hiring state workers has dramatically slowed down since last year when Florida laid off employees to comply with its budget. City and county employment numbers have been falling locally, too.

WLRN's business talk show, The Sunshine Economy, wants to explore this issue by talking to former teachers, firefighters, officers, city, county and other workers to reflect on why they left the public sector.
