What makes your neighborhood special?
Have you lived in the same neighborhood for so long that you know everyone on your block? Do you welcome newcomers with a plate of cookies and greet others warmly as they pass while you're sitting on your porch? (We're thinking ahead to warmer weather, or course.) Or help others shovel their snow in recent times?
The St. Louis metro area is filled with places where people have plenty of pride in their neighborhoods. We know many of them well: Baden, Bevo Mill, Hyde Park and Holly Hills each evoke images of history and culture. What about in St. Charles or St Louis counties, or neighborhoods from Alton to Waterloo in Illinois?
Please respond to share your story of the special vibe that makes your neighborhood what is is.
