How much are you willing to pay for gas?

Gas prices in the United States have the power to derail vacations, stifle the economy and seriously hurt reelection bids. But a Center for Investigative Reporting video this week demonstrated that the price of a gallon of gas doesn't come close to covering its true cost to the public: smog, asthma, greenhouse gases. Compared with European countries that pay up to $8.50 a gallon, the United States has it cheap. This made us wonder: How much are you willing to pay for gas?

Studies show that if we calculated all the costs of pollution from gasoline production and consumption as well as the costs of the health problems caused by that pollution and then added those costs to the price at the pump, we could be paying up to $15 a gallon. Would you continue to buy gas and drive a car if gas prices were that high?
